Main Purpose of Job

This position reports to the Supply Chain Director and is an integral element of the supply chain leadership team.

The role is responsible for:

Leading and developing the Product and Activity department, developing Supply chain product design/project management strategy and ensuring that products are brought to market in a controlled and managed way

Managing the full program of development from idea stage to in market. This incorporates process management, packaging design/technology, procurement, delivery of materials and the management of master data and product lifecycle

Responsible for the procurement of direct materials in a timely, cost efficient and sustainable way

Coordination of program with senior team via Product Management Review (PMR) element of the Business Planning process

Key Responsibilities

    Accountable for leading and developing the product elements of the Lindt Integrated Business Planning process specifically; PMR facilitation, Go to Market Process and Master Data

    Represent Supply Chain at PMR meeting, supporting with insight on the latest demand and supply plans, highlighting gaps between forecast and budget, along with any supply constraints

    Lead the Packaging and Procurement team ensuring that

      packaging is developed on time, tested appropriately and to the highest quality standards

      packaging is procured within cost targets and delivered at least 2 weeks prior to use

      packaging is planned systemically and integrated into the wider planning processes

      Lead the development of the Master data strategy including

        new product set up

        obsolescence

        data validation checks

        packaging waste data for internal and external use fit for the future under EPR legislation

        In conjunction with the IT team, ensure the Lindt master data systems are fit for purpose, used correctly and well understood

        Leadership of product life cycle process – Management of origination and NPD and obsolescence

        Long term project – Establishment of Master data validation and set up systems


        Team Leadership


        Lead, motivate, coach and develop the Product and Activity team by setting clear priorities aligned to the Game Plan objectives and Supply Chain Strategy. Ensure they deliver these and are equipped with the skills required for current and future needs.



        Lead cross functional ways of working ultimately ensuring alignment to and focus on business Game Plan


        Manage any performance issues quickly and directly, holding to account where necessary



Working relationships


This roles requires the individual to build and maintain relationships with key internal and external contacts:


External: Lindt Global teams, factories, DHL and key suppliers


Internal: Supply chain team, Customer teams, Marketing, Business Operations, Commercial Finance, IT




Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Preferred
  • Line management, team leadership and coaching
  • Confidence with strategic planning
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Strong communication, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Pro-active nature with the ability to use own initiative
  • Analytical skills and good Excel and SAP systems knowledge
  • Experience in working in a FMCG environment
  • Experience managing a Go-To-Market New product development Process and Project Management
  • Experience and working knowledge of Packaging Development and Procurement
  • Experience in Master data management
  • A good understanding of manufacturing and 3PL environments
  • Driven, and willing to go above and beyond what is required

The role is head-office-based in Feltham (60% of time), England.
