How you could help us to Enchant the World with Chocolate
Based in our Dublin office and working within the Ireland marketing team and in tandem with the Ireland Leadership team help shape and sharpen short and midterm commercial strategy
- Provide market context, category dynamics, and input/effect on plans
- Ensure the consumer is at the heart of our plans whilst ensuring profitable growth. Lead our understanding and insight for the Irish consumer
- Co-create compelling and winning brand and commercial plans at a global level for Lindt Ireland before sales and category translate to customer and channel level
- Lead the continued evolution of the Lindt Ireland Category Vision for key brands, segments & channels
- Work with category to deliver and understand key internal insights around existing business, future business and tests
Where you’ll be based
This role will be based in Sandyford, Dublin (Hybrid Working: in the office 60% and WFH 40%)
Key Responsibilities
Short Term Strategy - Support the development of the short term (6 months to 2-year horizon company strategy
- Support the brand team in building/supporting our seasonal and AYR strategy at a company level
- In tandem with the brand team build the overall guidance and presentations to steer and implement the total strategy for the category and sales team to localise for their accounts at Seasons and for AYR comms e.g. Easter and Christmas launch, support for innovation launches, post launch analysis, priority lists and perfect store and screen evolution, PPCA modelling, portfolio & competitor deep-dives etc
Mid Term Strategy - Support the development of the mid and long term (2–5-year horizon) company strategy
- Work in tandem with the LT team to better understand opportunities and gaps in the mid-year plan
- Provide market and consumer context/outlook conducting analysis and research as required to size prizes and understand new or existing categories and channels etc.
- Lead the development of the total company category vision (Polaris) – refresh, own and enhance for internal and external stakeholders
- Work in tandem with the brand team on the planning cycle (inc. GPD) and support in the analysis and rigor behind plans
Business Understanding - Enable improved planning through better market and consumer understanding
- Establish, lead and develop ongoing consumer research agency relationships and long-term direction
- Build strong relationships as the key contact for customer data providers validating, optimising and enhancing our existing delivery
- In tandem with UK maintain data integrity and consistency on our data sources whilst constantly evolving and maximizing our consumer reporting to drive insight and efficiency
- Lead ad hoc/incidental consumer research projects supporting the brand team in building better consumer understanding
- Lead ad hoc understanding/performance/value of projects/trials supporting the brand team to assess viability, post launch potential, set KPIs etc
- Lead and improve ongoing consumer understanding and processes
- Support in understanding general Lindt & market behaviour (price, volume, mix) and future strategic options for Lindt (not an RGM role but ownership of key metrics)
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Preferred
- Experienced category/commercial strategy manager, with proven individual results across multiple customers
- Excellent numeracy, analytical and data interpretation skills, leading to strong track record of problem solving for the category, Lindt and Channels
- Strong project management skills, with proven record of leading complex projects internally and externally
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, particularly at senior internal levels
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and influence at all levels, cross functionally and via agencies where project briefs are required
- Strong workshop/facilitation skills that enable cross functional teams to succeed in the right environment on a common goal
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritise tasks effectively
- Strong coaching skills to lead and coach others
